This cake sounds delicious :) I'm from Northern Ireland, how much does a stick of butter weigh and the weight of a cup of sugar. Thanks!

 Melanie (North Carolina) replies:
A stick of butter is 1/4 pound (4 oz.). A cup of sugar is, well, a cup of sugar!?! Fill a "cup" with sugar that you have in your house (or preferably purchase an actual cup measure for future use).

Please stop using non-stick spray to bake. It's not your friend. Butter makes everything better! Don't be cheap. It shows on your product. As well as on you.

I have cut the cost of making cake down to a cake mix an the 12 oz 7-up my topping is cool whip as the frosting topped with a fruit salsa that consists of strawberry, kiwi, granny smith apple, and strawberry jelly a little sugar. Everyone at work really enjoyed it!
