OATMEAL CAKE 
1 1/4 c. boiling water
1 c. oatmeal, uncooked

Cream:

1/2 c. butter
1 c. sugar
1 c. brown sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs

Then add:

1 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg

Use 9 x 13 inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.

CARAMEL FROSTING:

Melt 1/2 cup butter. Add 1 cup brown sugar. Boil,. Stir 1 minute or until slightly thick. Cool slightly. Add 1/4 cup milk; beat smooth. Beat in about 3 1/4 cups powdered sugar until of spreading consistency.
