CHEOREG (CLECHE) 
1 c. lukewarm milk
1 1/2 c. melted butter
3 eggs
1 yeast dissolved in 1/2 c. warm water
1/2 tsp. yansun
1 tsp. mahlab
1/4 tsp. anise
1 tsp. salt
3 tbsp. sugar
6 c. flour
1 egg, beaten (for brushing top)

Mix milk, butter, 2 eggs, yeast, salt, spices and sugar. Add flour. Knead and let stand until dough is double in size. Roll into 8-inch strips. Shape into circles. Lay on cookie sheet. Brush top with 1 beaten egg. Let stand for 2 hours. Bake at 375 degrees for 15-20 minutes; bake at lower temperature for crispier cookies.

OPTIONAL: Brush sesame seeds on top with beaten egg.
