HOMEMADE MACARONI AND CHEESE
1 (1 lb.) pkg. elbow macaroni
1 (12 oz.) can evaporated milk
1 tsp. pepper
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 cup (1/2 stick) butter
1 lb. assorted cheese (sharp, cheddar, Velveeta, Parmesan)

Preheat oven to 350°F.

Bring medium sized pan of water to boil. Add elbow macaroni. Cook macaroni until done. Meanwhile, cut up cheese into thin slices or small cubes. Drain water and pour macaroni into a casserole dish.

Add butter, salt, pepper, milk, and cheese. Stir together.

Bake for about 20 to 30 minutes. Stir occasionally. If it gets dry you may add a little more milk.

Serves about 6-8.

Hint: For crispy top sprinkle with grated parmesan or shredded cheese and put in oven on broil for about 10 to 15 minutes, or till golden brown.

This was a great dish! We were out of milk so I looked for one with an alternative. I added pre- cooked Tyson grilled chicken breast strips and it was delicious. I couldn't tell the difference and my Husband even loved it.

This recipe is amazing! I've made it a few times and is just great. I add maple bacon. Cut into pieces and pan fry it until it has a crisp to it. I also add garlic powder and parsley flakes for some more flavor. Also instead of evaporated milk I used about a 1/4 cup of cream.

My family enjoyed the mac 'n cheese. I just made it yesterday. I do not eat cheese therefore I could not taste the mixture as I prepared it. This was a dinner party so I was nervous. When people go back for seconds, you've got your answer. I had never made mac 'n cheese before. Thanks for this recipe.

Only thing I did different was to melt the Velveeta with some of the milk first. That just made it easy to stir all together. Cheesy-licious!
4 cups uncooked macaroni is supposed to equal 1 pound, but I thought that was too much, so I didn't add all of it.

I was looking for an easy homemade mac and cheese recipe to fix for my family. This is by far the easiest and simplest one that I've found. So many of the others call for too many ingredients. I printed out the recipe, and will certainly make it.
