BUTTERSCOTCH NUT BARS 
1 1/3 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 c. packed brown sugar
1 egg
2/3 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1/3 c. shortening
1 c. butterscotch chips or 1 c. nuts

Beat all at medium speed for 2 minutes. Spread in a greased and floured 9x13 inch pan. Bake in 350 degree oven for 20-25 minutes. Cool and frost.

BUTTERSCOTCH FROSTING:

Melt 2 tablespoons butter with 1/2 cup brown sugar. Add 2 tablespoons cream. Add 1 1/2 cup powdered sugar. Add 1 teaspoon vanilla. Beat until smooth.
