CHRISTMAS WASSAIL | |
1 c. water 1/3 to 2/3 c. sugar 1/4 c. whole cloves 1 tsp. chopped candied ginger 2 c. apple cider or juice 1 c. orange juice 1 stick cinnamon, broken 2 tbsp. lemon juice Boil water and sugar 10 minutes. Tie cloves, cinnamon and ginger in cheesecloth or use 2 tea balls; let stand in sugar syrup one hour. Stir in remaining ingredients; heat to boiling. Remove spices. Serve hot or cold. Makes 8 (1/2 cup) servings. |
