PANCAKES AND MAPLE SYRUP 
1 1/2 c. buttermilk
3/4 tsp. (each) baking soda, salt, baking powder
1 egg
2 tbsp. sugar
1 1/3 c. flour

Mix and pour onto hot griddle; turn when golden brown. Serve with butter and syrup.

MAPLE SYRUP:

1 c. (each) brown sugar, white sugar, water, Karo syrup

Bring to boil for exactly 3 minutes (important--count it out!); remove from heat and add 1 teaspoon maple flavoring. Store in a covered bottle when cooled; this will keep forever in the refrigerator.
