FRUIT SYRUP FOR PANCAKES 
1/2 to 3/4 c. sugar
3 tbsp. cornstarch
2 c. water
2 c. sliced fresh peaches
2 tbsp. lemon juice

Combine sugar and cornstarch in saucepan. Add 2 cups water. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Add fruit and simmer until tender. Remove from heat and add lemon juice. Serve hot or cold with pancakes.

Use any fruit you like. If you use canned fruit, reduce sugar and use juice from fruit in place of water.
