1 box Devils food cake mix Make according to directions on box in 11 x 14 inch pan. CREAM FILLING: 5 tbsp. flour 1 1/4 c. milk 1 c. sugar 1 c. shortening 1 stick butter, soft Cook flour and milk until thick; let cool. Cream together sugar, shortening and butter. Mix with milk mixture. Beat until fluffy. Spread on cooled cake. TOPPING: 1 stick butter, melted 1 egg, beaten 2 1/2 tbsp. hot water 9 tbsp. cocoa 3 tbsp. shortening, melted or 3 tbsp. oil 1 tsp. vanilla 1 1/2 c. powdered sugar Beat together and spread on top of filling. Refrigerate. |
