PEANUT PATTIES 
3 c. sugar
2/3 c. white syrup
1 c. canned milk
1 tsp. vanilla
2 tbsp. butter
3 c. raw peanuts
Few drops red food color

Mix all ingredients except vanilla. Cook until a drop holds a firm ball in cold water. Add vanilla, beat until creamy and mixture loses its gloss. Pour quickly into buttered pans. Makes 13 large patties. Freezes well.
