BETTER-THAN-BOUGHT ORIGINAL
RECIPE COOKIES

2 c. room temperature butter (not butter or Crisco)
2 c. sugar
2 c. brown sugar, packed
4 eggs
2 tsp. real vanilla
5 c. oatmeal (put small amounts into blender at a time & whirl until it turns into a powder)
4 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
2 tsp. baking soda
24 oz. (2 lg. pkgs.) chocolate chips
1 (8 oz.) plain Hershey bar, diced
3 c. chopped pecans or walnuts (or any other kind)

Cream together butter, sugar and brown sugar. Add eggs and vanilla. In a separate bowl mix together the blended oatmeal, flour, baking powder and soda. Mix all the above ingredients together real good then add chocolate chips, diced Hershey bar and nuts. This mixture is VERY STIFF so you may need to mix together with your hands.

Shape into balls a little larger than walnuts and place 2" apart on an ungreased cookie sheet. Press balls slightly with fork before baking.

Bake at 375 degrees for 6 to 10 minutes or until they start to flatten out and get delicately brown on the bottom and around the edges. Must be taken out of the oven while still a little soft or the cookies will become too hard when cool. Yield: approximately 125 cookies.
