PEANUT BLOSSOMS 
1 3/4 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. butter
1/3 c. peanut butter
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla extract
Sugar for rolling
3 doz. chocolate candy kisses

Sift together flour, baking soda, and salt. In a bowl, cream together butter, peanut butter, and sugars. Add egg and vanilla and beat well. Blend in the dry ingredients gradually, mixing thoroughly. Shape dough into balls using a rounded teaspoonful for each. Roll balls in sugar and place on greased baking sheets. Bake at 375 degrees for 8 minutes. Remove from oven. Top each cookie with a milk chocolate candy kiss, pressing down firmly so cookie cracks around edge. Return to oven and bake 2 to 5 minutes longer until golden brown. Makes approximately 3 dozen.
