BEAN SOUP 
1 c. dry beans
1 c. potatoes
1 c. celery
1/2 c. onion
1 carrot, cubed
1 beef bouillon
1 tbsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1 pt. tomatoes
1/4 c. raw rice
1/2 lb. hamburger, browned
3 qt. water

Boil beans and water 2 minutes. Remove from heat and let stand 1 hour, covered. Return to heat, simmer 20 minutes. Add vegetables, salt, pepper and bouillon. Boil. Add hamburger. Boil 1 hour.
