OLD FASHIONED TOFFEE CRUNCH | |
I try to make this only at Christmas because it is so sinfully delicious. 1 c. butter 2 tbsp. light corn syrup 1 1/4 c. sugar 2 tbsp. water 1 (11 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate morsels Slivered almonds (optional) In a heavy saucepan, heat butter, corn syrup, sugar and water, stirring constantly until mixture boils. Boil to 300 degrees and remove from heat. Add almonds. Pour into foiled lined 15 x 10 x 1 inch pan. Sprinkle morsels over brittle while still hot. Allow to stand until morsels become shiny and spread with spatula. Let cool and refrigerate one hour. Break into bite-size pieces. |
