APPLE MYSTERY DESSERT 
1 c. crushed pineapple, undrained (20 oz.)
3 c. apples, sliced, unpeeled
1/2 c. sugar
2 tbsp. lemon juice
1 box yellow cake mix
1/2 c. melted butter
1 c. chopped pecans

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly grease 8 x 12 x 2 inch baking dish. Pour pineapple and juice into dish. Layer apples, 1/4 cup sugar and lemon juice on top of pineapple. Sprinkle dry cake mix on top of fruit. Top with melted butter, 1/4 cup sugar and chopped nuts.

Bake 20 minutes, then cut with a knife to allow juice to rise to the top. Bake 30 minutes longer. Serve warm or cold with ice cream or whipped topping.
