BREAKFAST SCONES WITH RAISINS 
2 c. white flour
3 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. butter
1 c. raisins
1 tsp. sugar
3/4 c. milk
1 egg, optional

Mix together flour, baking powder, salt, sugar and raisins. Add shortening and milk; knead together lightly. Turn dough onto floured board and press out to 1/2 inch thick. Cut out dough with biscuit cutter. Bake at 375 degrees for about 10-12 minutes.
