BEST HOT ROLLS 
6-7 c. flour
2 pkgs. dry yeast
1/2 c. warm water
1/2 c. sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. salt
1/2 c. shortening
2 c. warm water

Combine yeast with 1/2 cup warm water. Combine sugar, egg, salt, shortening and 2 cups warm water. Add yeast mixture. Add enough flour to make a stiff dough.

Place on floured board and knead 20 times. Place in greased bowl; let rise until doubled. Punch down; shape rolls. Let rise again. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes or until brown.
