POP CORN BALLS 
1 c. dark syrup
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. vinegar
2 tbsp. butter
1/8 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla
4 qts. popped corn

Combine syrup, sugar and vinegar in a saucepan over medium heat. Boil until it reaches 248 degrees. Remove from heat. Add butter, soda and vanilla. Stir. Pour syrup over popcorn, a small amount at a time. Stir until well coated. Shape into balls with lightly buttered hands. Place on buttered cookie sheet to cool. Makes 12 popcorn balls.
