BEAN SOUP 
1 lb. dried navy, northern or lima beans
1 lg. onion, chopped
2 or 3 carrots, chopped
Salt
Pepper
Water
Seasoning (may be bacon, country ham, ham bone, or fatback)

Wash beans. Place in large pan. Add other ingredients. Cover with water. Cook until beans are done. You will add more water as is needed while cooking.
