APRICOT ALMOND CHEWS 
1 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. butter
3/4 c. packed brown sugar
1/2 c. sugar
1 egg
1/2 tsp. almond extract
2 tsp. water
2 1/2 c. rolled oats
1/2 c. chopped almonds
1 c. snipped dried apricots

Toast almond slices at 350 degrees for 6 to 10 minutes until brown. Cream butter and sugar. Add egg, almond extract and water. Add flour mixture. Stir in oats, apricots and almonds. Drop by teaspoon, flatten out with hand.

ICING:

2 c. powdered sugar
1/4 tsp. almond extract
2 or 3 tbsp. water

Stir icing ingredients together.
