OVEN STEW 
2 lbs. beef chuck, cut in 2 inch cubes
1 onion, quartered
4 carrots, halved
4 celery stalks
1/2 green pepper
1/4 c. bread crumbs
2 c. mushrooms
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1 (1 lb.) can tomatoes, drained
3/4 c. dry red wine

Combine all ingredients in large Dutch oven with tight cover. Cook in 300 degree oven, covered, for 4 hours. Do not uncover while cooking. Serve with crusty French bread.
