WHEAT GERM BROWNIE TIERS 
1 c. wheat germ
1/2 c. flour
1/2 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
6 tbsp. sweet butter, melted
2 oz. unsweetened chocolate
1/4 c. sweet butter
3/4 c. granulated sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2/3 c. wheat germ
1/2 c. flour
1/4 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt

CHOCOLATE ICING:

1 oz. unsweetened chocolate
1 tbsp. butter
1 c. powdered sugar, sifted
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 tbsp. strong coffee

Mix ingredients for bottom tier and pat them evenly in ungreased 9 inch square pan. Set aside. To make chocolate tier, melt chocolate and butter over low heat, stirring occasionally. Beat in sugar, eggs, and vanilla. Stir in wheat germ mixed with flour, baking powder and salt. Spread over bottom tier. Bake in preheated 350 degree oven for 25 to 30 minutes. Cool slightly. Spread on chocolate icing. Cut into small squares.

CHOCOLATE ICING: Melt chocolate and butter. Remove from stove and mix in powdered sugar, vanilla and coffee.
