WHOLE WHEAT ROLLS 
1 c. instant powdered milk (Carnation)
3 c. water
1/3 c. shortening
1/4 c. sugar
2 tbsp. salt
3 pkgs. dry yeast
1 c. warm water

Mix powdered milk, 3 cups water and heat in large saucepan. Add shortening, sugar and salt. Heat until shortening has melted. Let this mixture cool to lukewarm.

Add the yeast that has been dissolved in 1 cup warm water. Stir this mixture into equal parts of flour (whole wheat and white). Gradually add the flour until the consistency that you can knead the dough.

Let the dough rise until double, punch down, let rise again, then make into desired size rolls. Let rise again. Bake at 375 degrees according to how large you want rolls. This will make at least 3 to 4 dozen.
