KOLACHE DOUGH 
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. soft Crisco shortening
Dash of salt
2 eggs
4 c. flour
3/4 c. warm water
1 pkg. dry yeast

Dissolve dry yeast in 3/4 cup warm water and set aside. Cream together the first 4 ingredients. Add yeast mixture and 2 cups flour to the creamed mixture. Mix well and then add the remaining flour. Place dough in a buttered bowl and cover with a towel. Set in a warm place and allow to rise for 1 1/2 to 2 hours. (See Kolache dough recipes in this book.)
