BARBECUE SAUCE | |
4 c. catsup 1 1/2 c. dark molasses 1/4 c. red wine vinegar 3 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce 1/4 c. lemon juice 1 c. finely chopped onion 2 cloves garlic, chopped fine 1/4 c. brown sugar 3 tbsp. dried mustard 2 tsp. Tabasco 1-3 tsp. cayenne pepper Depending on how hot or spicy you want the sauce to be. NOTE: Tabasco sauce and cayenne (or red) pepper can be left out of recipe, if you wish for a milder barbecue sauce. Combine all ingredients in a large pot (with a lid). Mix well and add up to 2 cups water. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Reduce heat, partially cover mixture and simmer very gently for 1 hour, stirring frequently. Add a bit more water if sauce gets too thick. |
