CHERRY NUT SQUARES 
1 c. butter
1 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
2 c. flour
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 (16o z.) can cherry pie filling
1 sm. pkg. chopped nuts

Cream butter and sugar; add vanilla. Beat in eggs. Mix in salt, flour and nuts. Spread 3/4 batter in 13x9 pan. Cover with cherry filling. Drop remaining batter on top of filling. Spread with spatula. Bake at 350 degrees for about 45 minutes. When cool, sprinkle with powdered sugar and cut into squares.
