YELLOW CAKE LAYERS 
3 eggs
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 1/4 c. self-rising flour
1 c. milk
1 1/2 sticks butter

Separate eggs. First beat egg white until stiff. Add 1/2 cup sugar; set aside. Then cream butter and 1 cup sugar until creamy then add 1 egg yolk at a time. Add flour and milk. When well mixed fold in egg whites last with a spatula until mixed, then pour in 9 inch cake pans. Bake at 350 degrees until done.
