KATE'S SAUERKRAUT SALAD | |
2 (1 lb.) cans sauerkraut, chopped 1 c. celery, finely chopped 3/4 c. green peppers, finely chopped 1 sm. jar pimento 3 tbsp. oil 1 1/2 c. sugar 1 tsp. salt (optional) 1 lg. onion, finely chopped 1/2 c. vinegar Wash sauerkraut in cold water. Cook sugar, oil, vinegar and salt for 1 minute. Drain sauerkraut and mix with other ingredients. Pour sugar and oil mixture over sauerkraut mixture. Mix. Let stand at least 4 hours before serving. Better if left overnight. |
