ANISE CHICKEN 
2 to 3 lbs. chicken fryer, cut up
2 c. soy sauce
2 c. sugar
2 c. peanut oil
4 to 5 slices ginger
MSG to taste
4 to 5 star anise

Put all ingredients, except chicken, in pan and bring to boil. Put in chicken and boil again. Cover and cook 50 minutes on low heat. Stir occasionally to make sure all pieces are covered. When done, turn off heat. Can leave in pan for a few minutes more or take out and let cool enough to touch. Then shred the chicken, discarding all bones. Pour a little of juice on chicken or put juice in a crust and let each person pour own.
