BAKED PORK CHOPS 
6 to 8 pork chops
Salt and pepper to taste
1/4 tsp. garlic powder
2 tbsp. shortening
1 lb. mushrooms, sliced
1 med. onion, sliced
1 green pepper
1 c. sherry wine
1 c. condensed cream of mushroom soup

Sprinkle salt, pepper and garlic powder over chops. Brown chops in 2 tablespoons shortening. Place in casserole dish. Saute mushrooms and onion rings. Pour over chops. Mix mushroom soup with wine. Pour over chops. Cut green pepper into rings and place on top layer of pork chops. Cover. Bake at 300 degrees for 2 hours. Serve with rice.
