1 3/4 c. boiling water
1 c. oatmeal
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. sugar
1 stick butter
2 ex. lg. or 3 med. eggs
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tbsp. cocoa
1 3/4 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
12 oz. chocolate chips
3/4 c. nuts

Boil water, put in bowl with oatmeal and let stand for 10 minutes. Add sugar and butter, stir until butter melts. Add eggs and mix well. Stir together soda, cocoa, flour and salt. Add to butter. Add 1/2 of chocolate chips to the batter. Pour batter into greased and floured 9 x 13 pan. Sprinkle remaining chocolate chips and nuts on top. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
