MOM'S OLD-FASHIONED MOLASSES COOKIES | |
3/4 c. (1 1/2 sticks) butter, softened 3/4 c. sugar 2 eggs 3/4 c. green label molasses 1/4 tsp. vanilla extract 1/2 c. milk 3 c. flour, sifted 1 tbsp. baking powder 1/4 tsp. baking soda 1/4 tsp. salt 1 tsp. ground ginger 1 tsp. cinnamon Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Cream butter. Add sugar. Blend well. Blend in eggs, molasses and vanilla. Sift all dry ingredients together. Add alternately with milk to butter-sugar mixture. Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls, about 2 1/2" apart onto greased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 6 to 8 minutes or until edges brown lightly. While warm, remove from pans to cool. Store in tightly covered container. Makes 9 to 10 dozen, 2" cookies. |
