PENUCHE CANDY 
1 c. milk
2 tbsp. butter
3 c. light brown sugar
1/8 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
3/4 c. nuts, broken

Combine milk, butter, brown sugar, and salt in large saucepan. Boil, not too fast, to soft ball stage. Remove from heat and cool. Add vanilla and beat until creamy. Add nuts and turn into a buttered plate or drop by spoonfuls onto waxed paper when stiff enough.
