WHISKEY CAKE 
3/4 lb. butter
6 egg yolks, beaten
6 egg whites, whipped
2 lbs. pecans
2 lbs. raisins or currants
1/2 c. cherries
1 lb. sugar (2 c.)
1 c. molasses
1 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1 lb. flour (4 c.)
1 heaping tsp. baking powder
1 c. whiskey or brandy

Cream butter and sugar. Add egg yolks and beat well. Add molasses, nutmeg and flour. Add whiskey (brandy), nut and fruits. Last add the whipped egg whites. Bake at 325 degrees.
