ONIONS CELESTE 
2 tbsp. butter
2 lg. yellow onions, sliced & separated
1/2 lb. Swiss cheese, grated
1 c. cream of chicken soup
1/4 c. milk
3 slices white bread, buttered, stacked, cut in cubes
1/4 tsp. pepper

In butter cook onions until clear. Pour in 9"x13" pan. Spread evenly with grated cheese. Sprinkle pepper. Heat milk and soup in same pan as onions. Pour on top of cheese. Cut through all layers with a table knife. Overlap buttered bread cubes on top. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes, covered. Uncovered for 15 minutes.
