BUTTER PECAN BARS 
1 3/4 c. all-purpose flour
1 1/4 c. firmly packed brown sugar, divided
1 c. butter, divided
1 1/2 c. pecan pieces
1 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips

In a large bowl, with electric mixer at medium speed, beat flour, 3/4 cup brown sugar and 1/3 cup butter 2-3 minutes or until particles are fine. Pat firmly into greased 13x9x2 baking pan. Sprinkle with pecan pieces and press lightly.

In a 1 quart saucepan, over medium heat, heat remaining 1/2 cup brown sugar and 2/3 cup butter until mixture boils. Boil 1 minute, stirring constantly; drizzle evenly over pecans. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes or until caramel layer is bubbly. Remove from oven; sprinkle with chocolate chips. Let stand 2 minutes. Using knife, lightly swirl melted chips into caramel. Cool; cut into bars.
