NORWEGIAN COOKIES 
1 1/3 c. sugar
1 c. plus 2 tbsp. butter (softened)
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
3 c. flour (all-purpose)
1 tsp. baking powder
1 pkg. (6 oz.) semi-sweet chocolate chips
3 tbsp. sugar
3/4 tsp. cinnamon

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Beat 1 1/3 cups sugar, the butter, eggs and vanilla in large bowl. Stir in flour, baking powder and chocolate chips. Divide dough into 4 equal parts. Roll each part on lightly floured board into logs (about 1 inch thick and 15 inches long).

Place rolls on ungreased cookie sheets. Flatten slightly with a fork. Mix 3 tablespoons sugar with cinnamon, sprinkle over dough. Bake until light brown on edges, 13-15 minutes while warm, cut diagonally into 1 inch strips, about 5 dozen cookies.
