ORANGE BUTTERMILK POUNDCAKE 
4 1/2 c. flour
3/4 tsp. baking soda
3/4 tsp. baking powder
3/4 tsp. salt
1 1/2 c. butter (room temperature)
2 1/2 c. sugar
6 eggs (room temperature)
3/4 tsp. vanilla
2 tbsp. grated orange rind
1 1/2 c. buttermilk

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Generously grease and flour a 10 inch tube pan. Sift together dry ingredients. Set aside. Cream butter, add sugar and mix until light and fluffy with electric mixer. Whisk eggs and add to butter mixture. Beat at medium speed until light and fluffy, add vanilla and orange rind. At low speed, beat in dry ingredients alternately with buttermilk, beginning and ending with flour.

Put in pan and cover loosely with foil and place in center of oven. Bake 30 minutes. Remove foil and continue baking for 1 1/4-1 1/2 hours.

ORANGE GLAZE:

1-2 tbsp. orange juice
1 c. confectioners' sugar, sifted

Stir 1/2 tablespoon of orange juice into sugar and continue adding 1/2 tablespoon until mixture is thick but pourable. Drizzle over cake.
