CANDY STICKS 
2 c. sugar
1/2 c. water
1/2 c. light corn syrup
2 tbsp. lemon juice
1 1/2 tbsp. lemon rind
1 tsp. food coloring

Combine sugar, water, corn syrup, lemon juice and lemon rind in medium saucepan. Bring to a boil and continue boiling, without stirring, until mixture reaches crack stage, about (290 degrees). Remove from heat and add flavoring and food coloring. Pour onto buttered platter. When candy is cool enough to handle pull and twist into canes or sticks.

NOTE: Fry peppermint extract with red food coloring, lemon with yellow and cinnamon with red or brown. (To color candy brown, combine red and yellow, with a drop of blue.)
