FILLING: 5 c. ground nuts 2 c. sugar 2 eggs 1 c. evaporated milk 1 tsp. salt 1 tsp. vanilla Use food/meat chopper/grinder to grind nuts. Mix all ingredients together to make a paste. Add more nuts to thicken if necessary. DOUGH: 9 c. flour 1 lb. shortening or butter 1 c. warm milk 1 tsp. salt 6 eggs, beaten 1 lg. yeast Dissolve 1 large yeast cake/package in cup of warm milk. Melt shortening. Mix all ingredients together and knead. Pinch into size of plums and roll out paper thin. Fill with nut mixture and dip in sugar. Make crescent shape if desired and bake at 400 degrees for 20 minutes. |
