2 c. sugar
2 c. cake flour
1 c. boiling water
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. vanilla
6 egg whites
Pinch of salt
1/4 tsp. cream of tartar

Sift sugar and flour 5 or 6 times together. Add boiling water. Let stand until cold. Then add baking powder and vanilla. Beat egg whites with salt and cream of tartar. Fold in first mixture. Bake at 350 degrees until done.
