GERMAN POTATO SALAD 
1 gallon potatoes, cooked
2 c. vinegar
1 c. water
2 tbsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
6 tbsp. bacon grease or oil
7 tbsp. cornstarch
3 c. sugar
8 slices bacon
1/2 c. onion, chopped

Add chopped onions to potatoes. Fry bacon crisp and crumble. Cook vinegar, water, sugar, salt, pepper and cornstarch until thick; add bacon grease. Pour over potatoes and mix. Add bacon pieces. Serve either warm or cold.
