1/2 c. sugar
1 tbsp. cornstarch
1 c. boiling water
Few grains salt
2 tbsp. butter
1 tsp. vanilla

Mix together sugar and cornstarch. Add 1 cup boiling water, stirring constantly. Boil for 5 minutes. Remove from fire and add salt, butter and vanilla.
