APPLE DUMPLINGS 
1 pie crust
2 Golden Delicious apples, peeled and cored
2 tsp. cinnamon
4 tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. butter
3/4 c. water
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/3 c. sugar

In a greased casserole dish, or pie plate, place half of the pie shell, put the apples onto the crust. Mix 2 teaspoons cinnamon and 4 tablespoons sugar. Pour the mixture into the holes of the apples. Dot the butter onto the apples. Cover the apples with the rest of the crust.

In a saucepan, mix the water, 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon, and 1/3 cup sugar together and boil 3 minutes. Pour syrup around dumplings. Bake at 425 degrees for 40 minutes. Serve by cutting in half.

Makes 2 dumplings.
