DELICIOUS APPLE DUMPLINGS | |
6 apples, peeled, cored & halved Biscuit dough 1 stick butter 1 c. packed brown sugar 1 c. white sugar Hot water Cinnamon Mix biscuit dough. Divide into 12 pieces. On floured board or countertop, roll dough piece with rolling pin until large enough to fold around apple half. Lay apple half on dough. Fill cavity with sugar. Sprinkle with cinnamon. Fold dough over it. Place in a deep pan large enough to hold all 12 dumplings. Continue as above with all dumplings. Slice the butter all over the top of the dumplings. Sprinkle the brown sugar and white sugar over all. Sprinkle all with cinnamon. Add enough hot water to completely cover the dumplings. (This makes the rich sauce to spoon on dumplings once they are baked.) Bake at 325 to 350 degrees until brown, about 1 hour. Recipe may be halved. Place in smaller dish. |
