CHEESE SOUP 
2 c. water
3 c. diced potatoes
1/2 c. sliced carrots
1/2 c. sliced celery
1/4 c. onion
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/4 c. melted butter
1/4 c. flour
2 c. milk
3 c. grated Cheddar cheese &/or American cheese
1 c. cubed ham

Boil the water, vegetables and seasoning for 8 minutes. Make the white sauce with the butter, flour and milk. Add white sauce to vegetables and water. Add the grated cheese and stir until melted. Add the ham.
