APPLE TORTE 
1/2 c. butter
1/3 c. sugar
1/4 tsp. vanilla
1 c. flour
1 pkg. (8 oz.) cream cheese, softened
1/4 c. sugar
1 egg
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/3 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
4 c. peeled apple slices

Cream first 3 ingredients (butter, sugar and vanilla). Blend in flour. Spread dough onto bottom and side of 9 inch spring pan. Combine next 2 ingredients (cream cheese and sugar). Add next 2 ingredients (egg and vanilla) and pour into pastry lined pan.

Combine next 2 ingredients (sugar and cinnamon). Toss apples into mixture. Spoon apple mixture over cream cheese layer. Bake at 450 degrees for 10 minutes. Reduce heat to 400 degrees and bake for 25 minutes. Cool and remove rim from pan.
