DUTCH APPLE PUDDING 
Great served with milk!

DOUGH:

1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tbsp. butter
1 egg
3/4 cup milk

FILLING:

4 apples, peeled and sliced
2 tbsp. sugar

SAUCE:

1 cup sugar
2 cups water
3 tsp. cornstarch
1 tbsp. butter

Add salt and baking powder to flour. Rub butter into flour. Beat egg and milk together. Add to flour mixture, mix into a dough. Spread part of the dough (1/2-inch thick) into a buttered baking pan.

Peel and slice 4 apples on top of dough. Sprinkle with 2 tablespoons sugar. Put remaining dough on top.

In a saucepan, mix sugar, water and cornstarch. Boil for 3 minutes. Stir in butter.

Pour sauce over top of pudding before baking.

Bake in a 400°F oven for 20 minutes.
