SIMPLY DELICIOUS POUND CAKE 
2 sticks butter
1/2 c. Crisco
3 c. sugar
5 eggs
1 c. milk
3 c. plain flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. coconut flavoring
1 tsp. rum flavoring

Thoroughly cream shortening; add sugar, beating well. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well. Add dry ingredients, alternately with milk. Mix in flavorings. Bake in loaf pan 1 1/2 hours at 325 degrees. DO NOT OPEN OVEN DOOR UNTIL DONE.

GLAZE:

1 c. sugar
4 tbsp. almond flavoring
1/4 c. water

Bring glaze ingredients to a rolling boil. Pour over warm cake. (I punch holes in cake before pouring mixture.) This cake keeps well - freezes well, too!
