APPLE DUMPLINGS 
2 c. sugar
2 c. water
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 c. butter

Mix sugar, water, and cinnamon. Bring to a boil in medium saucepan for 5 minutes. Remove from heat. Add butter, set aside.

Sift together:

2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt

Mix with:

3/4 c. Crisco
1/2 c. milk

Roll onto floured surface, making a rectangle 1/2 inch thick. Sprinkle dough with 5 grated and peeled apples. Mix 2/3 cup sugar and 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon. sprinkle over apples. Roll dough, starting at long end. Cut into 1 inch slices and put into 9 x 13 inch pan. Pour syrup over dumplings. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.

NOTE: Sprinkle sugar mixture over apples at your discretion, depending on sweetness desired.
